The idea generation process consists of finding the building blocks of change as "new ways of thinking" evolve. Many of these new ways of thinking are external to the organizations themselves and the economy. Then, what is really needed is a personalized creative and analytic system to identify opportunities before there are obvious to others. For example, in general recent technology developments such as the migration of pc apps to the phone make it suitable for us to foster and connect with technology in new ways of thinking when the flash of brilliance sparks on our brain. I argue that these sparks even can coexist in the absence of technology just by connecting with nature. Water is the most abundant element on Earth and it makes a lot of sense to explore why it is most suitable and a must have ingredient of any creative endeavour. Moral: Technology in itself does not provide for a solution for an effective idea generation process.

To answer this question, my response is Yes! But a blog published on "Bitacora Farmaceutica" distinguishes between the different types of leadership and also highlights the keys to managers survival. One of them is related to the difference between creativity and innovation. To be creative is to offer ideas that will increase market positioning of a company whereas innovation is to make them a reality. Very few people transform their ideas into processes or actions that can increase competitive edge of their company. We all should remmember that an idea goes through a lifecycle and that it changes as it goes though the different organizational levels as it seeks approval and support. If the idea is good, the first thing that changes is the author. Now, the key is to balance your creativity with your innovation style and balance your weaknesses with other team member strengths.

I have experienced myself the transformation process and learning to coach myself using a personal knowledge management (PKM) framework to think about how I could change a system. This system is due for change and I wanted to streamline and unify disconnected processes and information into a single coherent whole. The working "new smart-thinking system" is in the conceptual phase.
